TaMaR is the young adult branch of the UPJ. TaMaR is an acronym for Tnuat Magshimim Reformim– the movement for Progressive fulfillment. With affiliates in countries all around the world, TaMaR constituents have the same mission – to bring young Progressive Jews together and nourish their love for Judaism, Israel, and our respective communities.
TaMaR has held two successful Nothing But Nets fundraiser events – a movie night at the Randwick Ritz and recently, a trivia night at the Fair Trade Cafe in Glebe. Collectively we have raised over $1000, saving 100s of lives.

TaMaR has held two highly successful retreats in 2009.
In February we had a summer retreat held on the NSW Central Coast. It was a fantastic weekend of learning, communal shabbat experience and fun! The theme for the retreat was ethics and we had speakers exploring medical ethics, ethics relating to the Gaza situation and relationship ethics. As well as a fun Sunday of learning to surf!

In July we held a winter retreat in Woollongong which was a beautiful weekend enjoyed by all! There we explored personal connections to Judaism and Israel as well as experiencing a great communal shabbat and a wonderful bike ride along the coastline.
