The month of Elul is very much about reflecting on the year gone by - considering what went well and what can be improved. Making some time each day during this month is a gift you deserve…and it’s part of the tradition. Here are some things to reflect on and ask yourself in compassion:
Over the last year:
--How has my health changed? What went well and what can I improve on?
--How are my relationships with family and friends?
--What is the state of my home? What have I don’t to maintain it and what are my hopes for the year ahead?
Reflect on these things with kindness towards yourself and others. Remember, “the world continues to exist because there is more kindness than judgement in the world” (Midrash).
