July 24, 2020 marked a momentous day as Kurdish-Iranian journalist, Behrouz Boochani, who had been detained on Manus Island, was granted refugee status in New Zealand. The UPJ, the Assembly of Rabbis and Cantors and Netzer Australia issued a press release calling on the Australian Government to refocus its efforts to secure the health, safety and basic human rights of refugees. Federal Mazkir Lior Kalisse reported on the unique and very successful online Netzer Winter Camp, Machane Messiba Ba'bayit, which saw 34 senior madrichim and 10 junior madrichim lead an inspiring online camp experience for more than 120 attendees from five different countries.
