WHAT'S ON

Violence against Progressive service at Kotel

In response to receiving news of the violence at the Kotel yesterday, when IRAC, IMPJ and URJ leadership were attempting to hold a joint service with Hebrew Union College students and Board of Governors, the UPJ sent the following message of support to Rabbi Rick Jacobs, Rabbi Gilad Kariv, Rabbi Noa Sattath and Anat Hoffman:
Dear Rabbi Jacobs, Rabbi Gilad, Anat and Rabbi Noa,

We were shocked by the overnight news of violence and intimidation against our Progressive sisters and brothers at the Kotel, and concerned about your safety and this attack against religious freedom.

Please know that we are ensuring that our community here in the UPJ region are aware of what is happening, and will encourage them to continue to provide support to you through the IMPJ and IRAC.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you as we hope for a Shabbat of peace in Jerusalem.

B'shalom, Your UPJ chaverim
